Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

Control Module, Motronic E9, V6 Petrol (608)

To remove
1. Carry out procedure before removing control module.

IMPORTANT: It is important to follow the order in Tech2 as some data is loaded into the new control module.

2. Move the ignition key to the LOCK position.
3. Remove the upper engine cover.
4. Deatch the ground cables from the control module.
5. Carefully press down the catches and carefully unplug the connectors from the control module one at a time so that the connection pins are not damaged.

IMPORTANT: Take care when releasing the locking mechanism on the connector so as not to damage the connector. Pull the halves straight apart to avoid bending the pins.







6. Remove the control module.

To fit
1. Fit the control module.
Tightening torque 10 Nm (7 lbf ft)







2. Plug in the connectors and check that they are locked.

IMPORTANT: Take care when plugging in the connector so as not to damage or press out the pins/sleeves in the connector.

3. Attach the ground cables.
4. Fit the upper engine cover.
5. If the control module has been replaced, carry out Procedure after control module replacement
