Differential Assembly: Testing and Inspection

Checking/changing the oil in the limited slip differential

To remove
1. Align the car level on a lift.
2. Undo the level plug (A).





3. For changing: Undo the drain plug (B).
4. For changing: Drain the oil.

To fit
1. For changing: Fit the drain plug (B) with a new sealing washer.





2. Fill with oil until it starts to run out, use a clean hose and funnel. The oil level should be at the lower edge of the hole, see Fluid capacity and grade of fluid.
3. Fit the level plug (A) with new sealing washer.

Tightening torque, plugs 25 Nm (18.4 ft. lbs.)
