Outdoor Temperature Sensor. Open Circuit / Short to B+







Fault symptoms

The external temperature function is faulty.

Fault criteria

In case of an open circuit, the resistance of the circuit is greater than 415 kohm.
In case of a short circuit to ground, the resistance of the circuit is less than 100 ohm.

Diagnostic help

The value for ambient temperature (unfiltered/filtered) can be read with the diagnostic tool.
The displayed ambient temperature can be adjusted with the diagnostic tool ± 5°C.

Checking the wiring harness

Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, withdrawn pins and pin clamping force.
