Pipes and hoses
The A/C system pipes and hoses must withstand high temperatures and pressures. They must also fulfil demands on leakage and diffusion in hoses, i.e. leaks through the hose material. Therefore, only pipes and hoses especially manufactured for A/C systems may be used.

The meet with these demands, the hoses have an EPDM rubber exterior and are lined with butyl rubber. Heat protection is also fitted on certain exposed parts of the hoses.

O-rings
The O-rings are made of a special type of chloroprene rubber (neoprene). They must be lubricated with synthetic vaseline before being mounted in the A/C system. The O-rings must always be checked when fitting A/C components.
