1. Raise the car and remove the rear wheels.
2. Unhook the exhaust system's rear and center rubber hangers. Hang up the exhaust system so that it does not put too much of a strain on the front rubber hangers and flexible section.
3. Unbolt the lower transverse link from the longitudinal link on both sides of the car.
4. Unbolt the upper transverse link from the longitudinal link on both sides of the car.
5. Unbolt the anti-roll bar from the longitudinal link on both sides of the car.
6. Remove the subframe retaining bolts and lower the subframe complete with anti roll bar and transverse links.
7. Remove the anti-roll bar and transverse links.
WARNING: The transverse link retaining bolts with protective sleeves must be refitted in the same way as they were when removed. They protect the fuel tank and fuel filler pipe in the event of a collision.
To Fit
1. Bolt the anti-roll bars to the subframe.
Tightening torque 50 Nm (40 ft. lbs.)
2. Mount the transverse links on the subframe but do not tighten the bolts. Fit new nuts.
WARNING: The transverse link retaining bolts with protective sleeves must be refitted in the same way as they were when removed. They protect the fuel tank and fuel filler pipe in the event of a collision.
3. Raise the subframe with anti-roll bar and transverse links into position but do not tighten the subframe retaining bolts.
4. Tighten the bolts securing the anti-roll bar to the longitudinal link on both sides of the car.
Tightening torque 50 Nm (40 ft. lbs.)
5. Bolt the upper transverse link to the longitudinal link on both sides of the car.
Tightening torque 90 Nm + 60° (70 ft. lbs. + 60°) .
6. Tighten the bolt securing the lower transverse link to the longitudinal link on both sides of the car.
Tightening torque 90 Nm + 60° (70 ft. lbs. + 60°) .
7. Tighten the subframe retaining bolts.
Tightening torque 90 Nm + 60° (70 ft. lbs. + 60°) .
8. Hook the exhaust system's rear and center rubber hangers into place.
9. Fit the wheels.
Tightening torques
aluminium rim 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.)
pressed steel rim 50 Nm + 2 x 90°, max. 110 Nm (37 ft. lbs. + 2 x 90°, max. 81 ft. lbs.)
Lower the car to the floor.
10. Tighten the bolts securing the transverse links to the subframe.
IMPORTANT: It is important to ensure that all four wheels of the car are on the ground when the bolts are tightened.
Tightening torque 90 Nm (70 ft. lbs.) + 60°.
11. Check the toe-in and adjust as necessary.
