Front Side Door Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the accessory switch panel. Refer to Door Lock and Side Window Switch Replacement - Driver Side (Door Lock and Side Window Switch Replacement - Driver Side).
3. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement).
4. Remove the outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement).
5. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement).
7. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement).
8. Remove the outside rearview mirror (ORVM). Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement (Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement).
9. Remove the window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Remove the weatherstrip run channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement (Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement).
11. Remove the window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement).
12. Remove the door latch assembly. Refer to Front Side Door Latch Replacement (Service and Repair).
13. Remove the side door SIR sensor. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement (Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement).
14. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
15. Remove the check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
16. Remove the wire harness from the door. Refer to Front Side Door Wiring Harness Replacement (Front Side Door Wiring Harness Replacement).




17. Remove the bolts that retain the door to the hinge plates.
18. Remove the door from the vehicle with an assistant.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the door to the vehicle with an assistant.
2. Apply Loctite(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489), or equivalent, to the fastener prior to installation.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the bolts that retain the door to the hinge plates and tighten to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the wire harness to the door. Refer to Front Side Door Wiring Harness Replacement (Front Side Door Wiring Harness Replacement).
5. Install the check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Install the side door SIR sensor. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement (Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement).
8. Install the door latch assembly. Refer to Front Side Door Latch Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Install the window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement).
10. Install the weatherstrip run channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement (Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement).
11. Install the window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Service and Repair).
12. Install the ORVM. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement (Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement).
13. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement).
14. Install the speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement).
15. Install the inside door handle. Refer to Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
16. Install the outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement).
17. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement).
18. Install the accessory switch panel. Refer to Door Lock and Side Window Switch Replacement - Driver Side (Door Lock and Side Window Switch Replacement - Driver Side).
19. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
