Console Replacement




Console Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Block the wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving.
2. Remove the floor shift control knob. Refer to Floor Shift Control Knob Replacement (Floor Shift Control Knob Replacement).
3. Remove the center console shift lever bezel. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement (Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement).
4. Remove the console storage compartment. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement (Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement).
5. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the 4 screws.




7. Adjust the parking brake to the full-up, or fully engaged position.
8. Slide the console rearward and raise the rear of the console in order to expose the electrical connectors.
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors as necessary.
10. Adjust the parking brake to approximately the halfway position.
11. Remove the center console from the vehicle.
12. If replacing the floor console base, remove the following and retain for transfer:

1. Remove the HVAC control module (if equipped).
2. Remove the armrest.
3. Remove the HVAC module and duct assembly.
4. Remove the cupholder.
5. Remove the HVAC upper duct.

Installation Procedure




1. If replacing the floor console base, install the following:

1. Install the HVAC upper duct.
2. Install the cupholder.
3. Install the HVAC module and duct assembly.
4. Install the armrest.
5. Install the HVAC control module (if equipped).

2. Position the center console to the vehicle.
3. Adjust the parking brake to the full-up, or fully engaged position.
4. Connect the electrical connectors as necessary.
5. Lower the rear of the console and slide the console forward into position.
6. Ensure that the 2 retaining ears on the front extensions of the console are fully engaged to the lower instrument panel (I/P).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

7. Install the center console retaining screws and tighten to 2.5 Nm (22 in. lbs.).
8. Install the console storage compartment. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement (Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement).
9. Install the center console shift lever bezel. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement (Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement).
10. Install the floor shift control knob. Refer to Floor Shift Control Knob Replacement (Floor Shift Control Knob Replacement).
11. Install the ignition switch lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder Replacement (Service and Repair).
12. Remove the blocks from the vehicle.
