Diagnostic Instructions

- Output Driver Module Performance

Circuit/System Description

The driver and passenger door modules (DDM PDM), upon receipt of a class 2 message or a direct lock or unlock switch input will supply battery positive voltage to the internal door lock and unlock relays control circuits.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The battery voltage is between 9-16 volts.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

During a lock or unlock function, the DDM or PDM detects an internal lock or unlock relay driver circuit is shorted to ground.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The DDM or PDM will cancel any outputs on the door lock or unlock relay control circuits.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* This DTC will clear on current status after the condition for setting the fault is corrected.
* A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles without a fault present.

Circuit/System Verification

1. Ignition ON, clear the affected door module DTCs.
2. Operate a power door lock switch to lock and unlock and verify that the DTC does not reset.

If the DTC resets, replace the affected door module.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
