Rear Side Door Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Close the window to the full up position.
2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement).
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement).




4. Remove the inside door handle lock rods from the latch.




5. Disconnect the outside handle lock rod from the outside handle.




6. Remove the 3 fasteners that retain the latch to the door.
7. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the latch.
8. Remove the latch from the door.
9. Remove the actuator from the latch. Refer to Rear Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement (Rear Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the actuator to the latch. Refer to Rear Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement (Rear Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement).




2. Position the latch to the door.
3. Connect the electrical connectors to the latch.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the 3 fasteners that retain the latch to the door and tighten to 10.0 Nm (22 in. lbs.).




5. Install the outside handle lock rod to the outside handle.




6. Install the inside door handle lock rod to the latch.
7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement).
8. Install the door trim panel Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement).
