Front Fender: Service and Repair




Front Fender Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

1. Apply protective tape to the front edge of the front door and the rear edge of the front bumper fascia.
2. Remove the assist step, if applicable. Refer to Assist Step Replacement (Assist Step Replacement).
3. Remove the wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Rear End) (Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Rear End))Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Front End) (Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Front End)).
4. Remove the rocker panel molding. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement ().




5. Remove the side hood bumper from the vehicle.




6. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the vehicle.
7. Remove the fender from the vehicle.




8. If replacing the fender to body seal, release the clips (1) that retain the seal to the fender bracket (2).

Installation Procedure




1. If replacing the body to fender seal, position the seal to the vehicle.
2. Ensure that the integral clips (1) on the seal are seated into the fender bracket (2).




3. Position the fender to the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the bolts that retain the fender to the vehicle and tighten to 10 Nm (89 in. lbs.).




5. Install the hood bumper to the vehicle.
6. Install the rocker panel molding. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement ().
7. Install the wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Rear End) (Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Rear End))Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Front End) (Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Front End)).
8. Install the assist step, if applicable. Refer to Assist Step Replacement (Assist Step Replacement).
9. Remove the protective tape.
