Front Seat Back Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the front bucket seat assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket).
2. Remove the seat cushion trim panel. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement (Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement).
3. Remove the seat belt anchor nut.




4. Release the J-strips (1, 4) across the bottom of the seat back cover.





Note: When separating the hook and loop retaining strips on the seat cover, do not pull the adhesive-backed band from the seat pad.

5. Remove the push-pins (3) securing the seat cover (2) to the seat frame.
6. Carefully separate the hook and loop retaining strips, and lift the seat cover in order to expose the lower half of the seat back pad.




7. Remove the seat back pivot bolt.




8. Remove the 2 bolts from the seat back recliner arm.
9. Remove the seat back assembly from the seat adjuster.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the seat back to the seat adjuster.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the seat back to the seat back recliner arm with the 2 bolts and tighten to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.)




3. Install the seat back pivot bolt and tighten to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.)




4. Pull the seat back cover down over the seat back pad.
5. Attach the hook and loop retaining strips by running your hand over the seat cover.




6. Fasten the J-strips (1, 4) across the bottom of the seat back cover.
7. Install the seat cover flaps (2) to the seat frame with push-pins (3).




8. Install the seat belt anchor and tighten to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.)
9. Install the seat cushion trim panel. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement (Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement).
10. Install the front bucket seat assembly to the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket).
