The Sunroof Cannot Be Closed

Cars affected: Saab 9-3 M03- equipped with pinch protection

Fault symptoms

The sunroof cannot be closed.

Background: The sunroof changes direction when attempts are made to close it. The SRM control module may then have lost the calibration value. This has resulted in workshops reprogramming the control module which is unnecessary in most cases.

Procedure

In the case of customer complaint, recommend the following procedure to the customer:

1. Advise the customer to read the owner's manual, in the section Interior equipment - Sunroof - Pinch protection. Carry out "Temporary disconnection of pinch protection".
2. If the problem remains after 2-3 attempts, take the car to the workshop.
