Removal Procedure
1. Remove the catalytic converter.
2. Remove the right camshaft cover.
3. Remove the right front wheel.
4. Remove the water pump.
5. Drain the engine oil.
6. Remove the right front wheelhouse front liner.
7. Remove the power brake booster pump.
8. Remove the crankshaft balancer.
9. Remove the drive belt idler pulley.
10. Remove the secondary air injection pipe.
11. Remove the heater inlet pipe fastener.
12. Remove the heater inlet pipe from the water outlet.
13. Remove the upper engine wiring harness protector fastener from the engine front cover.
14. Remove the drive belt tensioner.
15. Remove the left camshaft cover.
16. Remove the engine oil cooler hose from engine oil cooler pipe.
17. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet.
18. Remove the water outlet.
19. Remove the camshaft position sensors. Refer to the following:
- Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 (Right Side) Exhaust
- Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 (Right Side) Intake
- Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 (Left Side) Intake
- Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 (Left Side) Exhaust
20. Remove the camshaft position actuator solenoid valves.
21. Remove the lower engine wiring harness protector fastener from the engine front cover.
22. Remove the right upper generator fastener.
23. Remove the engine front cover.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the engine front cover.
2. Install the right upper generator fastener.
3. Install the lower engine wiring harness protector fastener to the engine front cover.
4. Install the camshaft position actuator solenoid valves.
5. Install the camshaft position sensors.
6. Install the water outlet.
7. Install the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet.
8. Install the engine oil cooler hose to the engine oil cooler pipe.
9. Install the left camshaft cover.
10. Install the drive belt tensioner.
11. Install the upper engine wiring harness protector fastener to the engine front cover.
12. Install a NEW O-ring to the heater inlet pipe.
13. Install the heater inlet pipe to the water outlet.
14. Refer to Fastener Caution.
Install the upper heater inlet pipe fastener and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).
15. Install the secondary air injection pipe.
16. Install the drive belt idler pulley.
17. Install the crankshaft balancer.
18. Install the power brake booster pump.
19. Install the right front wheelhouse front liner.
20. Install the water pump.
21. Install the right front wheel.
22. Install the right camshaft cover.
23. Install the catalytic converter.
24. Fill the engine with the appropriate oil type and quantity.
