Input Shaft Disassemble

INPUT SHAFT DISASSEMBLY

- J 44378 Press Adapter

DISASSEMBLY





1. Remove thrust washer (1).
2. Remove thrust bearing (2).
3. Remove 4th gear (3).
4. Remove caged needle bearing (4).





5. Remove bearing collar and 3rd/4th synchronizer from input shaft using separator plate under the 3rd speed gear and Press Adapter J44378, and a hydraulic press.





6. Remove the following components as an assembly:
^ Bearing bushing (1)
^ 4th gear blocking ring (2)
^ 3rd/4th synchronizer assembly (3)
^ Thrust washer (4)
^ Thrust bearing (5)
^ 3rd gear blocking ring (6)
^ 3rd gear (7)





7. Remove caged needle bearings (1).
8. Remove thrust bearing (2).





9. Press off 5th gear using Press Adapter J44378 (1), a separator plate J36513 (2) and a hydraulic press.
