Instrument Panel (IP) - Retainer Replacement

REMOVAL




1. Disable SIR system. (Refer to "SIR Disable/Enable [For Frontal and Curtain Inflators]" procedure.
2. Remove Instrument Panel Cover.




3. Remove cluster to I/P retainer screws and remove cluster by pulling rearward in car




4. Remove Radio




5. Disconnect antenna, IP harness and ground from radio




6. Remove passenger air bag.




7. Remove front floor console screws and slide console rearward.
8. Remove center shifter closeout panel.




9. Remove right and left shifter closeout panels.
10. Remove right and left intermediate ducts.




11. Remove cluster connector from retainer.




12. Remove I/P BEC from bracket.
13. Remove I/P ground from H-brace (forward of BEC).




14. Remove BCM from retainer.
15. Remove DLC from retainer.




16. Remove right door hinge pillar closeout trim.




17. Remove I/P retainer fasteners and I/P retainer.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Insulators are required between I/P retainer and Cross Car Beam.




1. Insure that all I/P retainer to C/C beam interfaces have an insulator present, if not, install insulator.
2. Install I/P retainer by aligning center 4-way locator (tapered boss) and outboard up/down locators with corresponding holes/slots in cross car beam. Install fasteners and tighten from center.




3. Install right door hinge pillar closeout trim.
4. Install DLC to retainer.




5. Install BCM to retainer.




6. Install I/P ground from H-Brace (forward of BEC).
7. Install I/P BEC.




8. Install cluster connector to retainer.
9. Install intermediate ducts.




10. Install right and left shifter closeout panels.




11. Install center shifter closeout panel.
^ Install floor console screws




12. Install passenger air bag.




13. Connect antenna, ground and IP harness to radio.




14. Install radio.




15. Install cluster and cluster screws.




16. Install I/P cover.
17. Enable SIR system. (Refer to "SIR Disable/Enable [For Frontal and Curtain Inflators]" procedure.
