Headlamp Bulb: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

CAUTION: HALOGEN BULBS HAVE PRESSURIZED GAS INSIDE AND CAN BURST IF YOU DROP OR SCRATCH THE BULB. YOU OR OTHERS COULD BE INJURED. BE SURE TO READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BULB PACKAGE. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY:
^ TURN OFF THE HEADLAMP SWITCH AND ALLOW BULB TO COOL BEFORE CHANGING BULBS. LEAVE THE HEADLAMP SWITCH OFF UNTIL THE BULB CHANGE IS COMPLETE.
^ ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION WHEN CHANGING A HALOGEN BULB.
^ HANDLE THE BULB ONLY BY ITS BASE. AVOID TOUCHING THE GLASS.
^ DO NOT DROP OR SCRATCH THE BULB. KEEP MOISTURE AWAY.
^ PLACE THE USED BULB IN THE NEW BULB'S CARTON AND DISPOSE OF IT PROPERLY. KEEP HALOGEN BULBS OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.

1. Remove side marker to body fastener.




2. Lift side marker up and out of fascia to free lower attaching tabs.
3. Rotate side marker bulb socket assembly counterclockwise and remove it from housing.
4. Rotate side marker lamp.
5. Remove headlamp bracket to structure fasteners.
6. Carefully lift headlamp assembly up.
7. Disconnect electrical connector from headlamp bulb assembly.
8. Rotate headlamp bulb assemblies counterclockwise to remove from headlamp housing.

INSTALLATION
1. Connect electrical connector to headlamp bulb assembly.
2. Insert headlamp bulb assemblies into headlamp housing.
3. Rotate headlamp bulb assemblies clockwise until seated.
4. Carefully lower headlamp assembly into position. Ensure headlamp bracket lower arm fits into bracket located on vehicle structure.




5. Install headlamp bracket to structure fasteners.

Torque:
Headlamp Bracket-To-Structure Fasteners: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs)

6. Insert side marker bulb assembly into side marker lamp housing.
7. Rotate side marker bulb assembly clockwise until seated.
8. Align lower attachment tabs of side marker housing with front fascia notches. Lower side marker to housing into position.
9. Install side marker to body fastener.
