Procedures
Using an adjustment screen of at least 4 m (13 ft) wide and 2.5 m (8.2 ft) high, square vehicle to the screen and position vehicle, so that the headlamps are 7.6 m (25 ft) from screen. The weight of the vehicle driver and a 1/2 tank of fuel must be included in adjustment procedure to assure accurate adjustment.
Make sure the vehicle is on a level surface. Measure from centerline of headlamp to ground and transfer that measurement to the adjustment screen. Next, transfer the horizontal centerline of the headlamps to the adjustment screen. All transferred measurements to the adjustment screen should be done with black tape no wider than 3 mm (0.118 in).
Turn low beams on and adjust headlamp beam, so that the beam hot spot is located to the right of the vertical headlamp centerline and even with the horizontal headlamp centerline. Vertical beam adjustment is accomplished by turning the adjustment screw located on the top of the headlamp bracket. The headlamps do not have any horizontal beam adjustment.
