Liquid Line
REMOVALIMPORTANT: Verifying the purity of the refrigerant with a refrigerant identifier before recovery is recommended.
1. Recover refrigerant using an approved refrigerant recovery system. Measure the amount of oil lost during recovery and record.
2. Remove left headlamp.
3. Remove surge tank to upper motor rail fasteners.
4. Unclip EPS harness from liquid line.
5. Unclip PTU vent from liquid line.
6. Remove nut from P-clip at shock tower cap stud.
7. Remove liquid line to TXV nut
8. Remove liquid line to receiver/dehydrator (RD) nut. Use a large pair of pliers to hold fitting to prevent twisting of line if necessary.
9. Remove liquid line at left shock tower and install protective caps to RD and TXV to prevent contamination and desiccant saturation.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Do not lubricate seal washers.
1. Remove protective cap from RD and RD end of liquid line and install new seal washer.
2. Feed RD end of liquid line down front of shock tower, beneath the surge return hose and under negative battery cable and battery box.
3. From headlamp opening guide RD end of liquid line to RD fitting and install nut.
4. Using a large pair of pliers hold fitting while tightening. Be careful not to twist line.
Torque:
Seal Washer - Liquid Line to Receiver/Dehydrator: 16 N.m (12 ft-lbs)
5. Remove protective cap from TXV and TXV end of liquid line, install new seal washers and install liquid line to TXV with nut.
Torque:
Seal Washer - Liquid Line to TXV Nut: 16 N.m (12 ft-lbs)
6. Install liquid line P-clip shock tower cap stud.
Torque:
P-Clip Nut: 8 N.m (70 in-lb)
7. Clip EPS harness to liquid line.
8. Clip PTU vent hose to liquid line.
9. Install surge tank with fasteners.
Torque:
Surge Tank: 6 N.m (53 in-lbs)
10. Install left headlamp.
11. Evacuate, charge, and leak check the A/C system.
