Throttle Body and Gasket Assembly Replacement
THROTTLE BODY AND GASKET ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENTREMOVAL
1. Loosen clamp at air cleaner assembly and throttle body assembly.
2. Remove attachment bolts from outlet resonator/duct assembly to support bracket.
3. Remove outlet resonator/duct assembly.
4. Cover throttle body opening with a shop towel, and use shop air to remove any dirt at the base of the throttle body.
5. Disconnect electrical connector at throttle body.
6. Disconnect PCV fresh air hose at throttle body.
7. Remove purge and PCV vacuum lines.
8. Clamp off hoses to avoid leaking coolant on engine.
9. Remove coolant hoses at throttle body.
10. Remove throttle body bolts.
11. Remove throttle body.
NOTE: Cover the intake manifold opening with a shop towel whenever the throttle body is removed to prevent foreign material entry.
12. Block intake manifold opening with a clean shop towel to prevent dirt from entering.
INSTALLATION
1. Remove shop towel from throttle body opening.
2. Install throttle body gasket.
NOTE: Use care when tightening throttle body bolts. Manifold damage will result if over torqued.
3. Install throttle body assembly and bolts.
4. Tighten throttle body bolts.
Torque:
Throttle Body-to-Intake Manifold Bolts - L81: 7.5 N.m (66 in-lbs)
5. Attach hoses to throttle body assembly and unclamp.
6. Connect PCV fresh air and vacuum hoses.
7. Connect throttle body electrical connector.
8. Install outlet resonator/duct assembly into position.
9. Tighten clamp at throttle body assembly.
10. Position outlet resonator/duct assembly to support bracket and install bolts.
Torque:
Outlet Resonator/Duct Assembly-to-Support Bracket Bolts - 6-Cyl: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs)
11. Tighten clamp at air cleaner assembly.
12. Connect negative battery cable.
Torque:
Battery Terminal Bolt: 17 N.m (13 ft-lbs)
13. If the throttle body assembly has been replaced, an automatic relearn procedure must be completed by engine control module (ECM).
IMPORTANT: Do not depress the accelerator pedal assembly during this procedure.
14. To complete this relearn procedure, turn ignition to "RUN" position for one minute.
