Removal
LOWER CONTROL ARM - SPRING JOUNCE BUMPERREMOVAL
CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON THE HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE OPPOSITE FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove wheel and tire
NOTICE: Hold link with wrench to avoid damage to link.
3. Remove stabilizer link to lower control arm nut.
4. Remove trailing arm bracket to underbody bolts.
5. Securely position screw A type jackstand under lower control arm. Apply a small force to compress coil spring.
6. Remove lower shock bolt.
7. Remove jounce bumper nut at lower control arm.
8. Loosen lower control arm to support frame bolt.
9. Remove lower control arm to knuckle fasteners.
CAUTION: UNLOAD COIL SPRING SLOWLY.
10. Lower jack stand to unload coil spring. Remove spring and jounce bumper.
11. Remove control arm to support nut and bolt.
12. Remove lower control arm.
