Revision to Second Coast Clutch Disassemble/Assemble Procedure

Models Affected:
2002-2003 Saturn VUE Vehicles with AF33-5 Automatic Transaxle (RPOs M09, M45)

In the "Second Coast Clutch Disassemble" (page 778) and "Second Coast Clutch Assemble" (page 789) procedures in the 2002-2003 Saturn VUE Transaxle Service Manual, the second coast clutch steel plates and the second coast clutch fiber plates are incorrectly identified. The illustration callout number for the second coast clutch steel plates should be 227. The illustration callout number for the second coast clutch fiber plates should be 228. See below for correct information.

3. Remove the plates (227, 228, 229).

Second Coast Clutch Assemble

Important:
Make sure that you have the correct number of clutch plates, and that they are in the correct order.





8. Install a steel plate (227) then a fiber plate (228). Repeat this sequence until all 6 plates have been installed.

9. Install the second coast clutch backing plate (229).
