Sunshade - Will Not Lower/Rotate to Forward Position

SUBJECT:
Sunshade Will Not Lower or Rotate to Forward Most Position
(Install New Sunshade Support Assembly)

MODELS AFFECTED:
2002 Saturn VUE vehicles built up to and including VIN 2S824514

CONDITION:
Some customers may comment the sunshade will not lower or rotate far enough forward without having to disconnect sunshade from the support assembly.

CAUSE:
This condition is caused by the edge of sunshade opening hitting the body of sunshade support assembly when the sunshade is lowered or rotated in a forward position.

CORRECTION:
To correct this condition replace both the driver and passenger sunshade support assembly with new support assembly P/N 22698282. Refer to procedure to replace the support assemblies.

PROCEDURE

Removal





1. Unsnap sunshade from sunshade inner retainer clip.

2. Remove sunshade inner retainer fastener and retainer.

Installation

1. Install sunshade retainer with retainer fastener.

Torque:

Inner Sunshade Support fasteners: 2.5 N.m (22 in-lbs)

2. Snap sunshade back into retainer.
