Cooling Fan Control Logic
The cooling fan is commanded on based on A/C request and engine coolant temperature.^ Enabled if the A/C compressor is enabled.
^ Enabled if coolant temperature exceeds 102°C (216°F).
^ Disabled if coolant temperature goes below 99°C (210°F).
After Run
The cooling fan is enabled when the engine is shutdown under extreme hot conditions.
^ Enabled if engine shutdown oil temperature exceeds 136°C (276°F).
^ Enabled if shutdown coolant temperature exceeds 100°C (212°F) and intake air temperature exceeds 77°C (171°F).
^ Enabled if shutdown coolant temperature exceeds 104°C (219°F) and intake air temperature exceeds 55°C (131°F)
^ Disabled when the coolant temperature drops below 95°C (203°F) and the intake air temperature drops below 50°C (122°F) or after a maximum of 5 minutes run time.
