(Perform Repair Procedure)

Models:
2003 Saturn VUE
with 2.2L L4 Engine (VIN D - RPO L61) and VT25E (Vti) Transaxle
(RPO-M75/M16)

Attention: Technician

Condition:

Some customers may comment on erratic or fluctuating speedometer operation. This fluctuation may occur at highway speeds and/or higher engine speeds and may be most noticeable during a vehicle launch from a stop. During launch, the vehicle may also exhibit a hesitation condition.

Cause:

The condition may be caused by water in the transaxle fluid causing the input and output speed sensor signals to short together.

Claim Information:

To receive credit for this repair during the warranty coverage period, submit a claim through the Saturn Dealer System for K6563 (Valvebody Assembly, Upper control - R & R or Replace). Two "add time" conditions are provided to perform warm up drive, flush transaxle and oil cooler assembly, and clean valvebody cover. One "add time" is for vehicles with VINs below 3S866018, the other "add time" is for vehicles with VINs 3S866018 and greater.
