Ignition Housing & Ignition Switch

IGNITION HOUSING AND IGNITION SWITCH

REMOVAL
1. Remove SIR module.

NOTICE: Do not use hammer to remove steering wheel. Damage may occur to the EPS system.

2. Remove steering wheel.
3. Remove SIR coil.
4. Remove lock cylinder bezel, prying off with a thin blade screwdriver.





5. Remove shroud fasteners and remove upper and lower shrouds.





6. Depress lock tabs and remove left and right multi-function levers.





7. Disconnect electrical housing electrical connectors.





8. Disengage the retaining tabs and remove the park lock cable assembly from the ignition module.





9. Remove lock housing bolts.
10. Place ignition key into "ACCY" position.





11. Separate the ignition housing from the multi-function bracket.
12. Remove ignition switch screws.
13. Remove ignition switch.

INSTALLATION
1. Ensure ignition switch is in the "ACCY" position.
2. Position ignition switch to housing, install screws and tighten until seated.
Torque:
Ignition Switch: 2.5 Nm (22 inch lbs.)
3. Remove the multi-function lever bracket from the column.





4. Pre-assemble lock housing and multi-function lever bracket. Hand tighten bolts leaving approximately 3.2 (0.125 inch) gap.

NOTICE: Ensure lock tab fully engages into column slot.

5. Slide bracket onto column.





6. Hand tighten lower bolt until snug.
7. Hand tighten upper bolt until snug.
8. Tighten lower bolt.
Torque:
Lower Bolt: 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)
9. Tighten upper bolt.
Torque:
Upper Bolt: 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)





10. Snap install ignition lock cable onto ignition module.
11. Install ignition switch electrical connector.





12. Install ignition housing electrical connectors.

NOTICE: Ensure both locking tabs are seated.





13. Install multi-function levers.





14. Install upper and lower shrouds using screws and tighten.
Torque:
Shroud Screws: 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.)
15. Install lock cylinder bezel (snap fit).
16. Install SIR coil.
17. Install steering wheel.
18. Install SIR module.
