(Replace Side Door Window Inner Sealing Strips)

Models Affected:
2003-2004 Saturn VUE Vehicles with Second Design (non-flocked) Side Door Inner Sealing Strips

Condition:

Some customers may comment that the aftermarket window tinting is scratched and/or torn.

Cause:

The second design side door inner sealing strips are manufactured with a Teflon(R) coated strip instead of a flocked strip. With the addition of aftermarket window tinting applied to the inner surface of the glass, the interface between the tinting, debris, and the Teflon(R) coated strip may scratch or tear the tint.

Correction:

Replace all side door window inner belt sealing strips with the first design, 2002 model year service parts. Refer to "Front Door and Rear Door Inner Belt Seal Removal & Installation" procedures in the Doors/Windows/Mirrors section of the 2002-2003 Saturn VUE Body Removal and Installation Service Manual.

Service Procedure:

1. Replace front door inner belt seals on both front doors. Refer to "Front Door Window Inner Belt Seal Removal & Installation" procedures in the Doors/Windows/Mirrors section of the 2002-2003 Saturn VUE Body Removal and Installation Service Manual.

2. Replace rear door inner belt seals on both rear doors. Refer to "Rear Door Window Inner Belt Seal Removal & Installation" procedures in the Doors/Windows/Mirrors section of the 2002-2003 Saturn VUE Body Removal and Installation Service Manual.
