REMOVING RUST PROTECTION FROM SERVICE PARTS

NOTICE: Some service parts may have a rust preventative coating on them. This coating must be removed prior to installing into transaxle. All parts should be used immediately after cleaning. Do not let P arts sit for more than six hours once rust protection is removed.

The following steps should be followed to remove rust protection prior to part installation:
1. Remove part from packaging.
2. Using solvent cleaner and a stiff brush, scrub all areas of part under a constant flow of solvent or submerged in solvent.

CAUTION: WHEN USING SOLVENT PARTS CLEANER, REVIEW ALL SAFETY PROCEDURES RECOMMENDED BY YOUR SUPPLIER, STATE AND LOCAL AGENCIES.

3. Fully flush all internal oil passages with a constant flow of solvent.
4. Wipe part dry with a clean, lint free towel, and install part within six hours of removing rust protection.
