C0000 - VEHICLE SPEED DATA INVALID





The electronic power steering (EPS) control module uses vehicle speed to determine the amount of steering assistance needed. The EPS receives the vehicle speed data from the ECM/TCM transmitted on the Class II serial data network.

DTC PARAMETERS
DTC C0000 will be current:
^ DTC U1300 and U1301 are not current.
^ EPS control module receives invalid vehicle speed data via the Class II serial data.
^ EPS receives no vehicle speed data on Class II serial data.
When DTC C0000 is current:
^ Service Wrench telltale will be On.
^ EPS control module will enter into a default mode. The amount of steering assist will be based on a default vehicle speed value. The amount of assist will be reduced.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ Using a Scan tool, check for current DTCs in the engine control module ECM/TCM. ^ If Scan tool is unable to communicate with ECM/TCM, check other modules for communication DTCs. Follow the appropriate DTC chart.
^ After ECM/TCM has been repaired, clear DTC C0000 from EPS control module.
