C0241
C0241-PCM INDICATED REQUESTED TORQUE MALFUNCTIONTraction control is simultaneously controlled by the Electronic Brake And Traction Control Module (EBTCM) and the Engine Control Module (ECM). The ECM sends engine torque data via serial data communications to the EBTCM. The EBTCM uses this message to determine traction control operation.
DTC PARAMETERS
DTC C0241 will be current if:
^ The EBTCM receives an incorrect engine torque message 3 seconds after start-up from the ECM.
^ The EBTCM continuously monitors for invalid data.
When DTC C0241 is current:
^ The TCS LED is turned Off.
^ The EBTCM will disable TCS.
^ A13S telltale is not illuminated.
^ ABS is not disabled.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Using Scan tool, view the ECM data and monitor the engine torque.
Check the ECM DTCs. Check the EBTCM for any communication DTCs. Diagnose any powertrain or communication DTCs first.
Possible causes for DTC C0241:
^ Proper connection.
^ Backed-out terminals.
^ Broken connector locks.
^ Corrosion in connectors/terminals.
^ Burned, chafed or pinched wiring.
^ Broken wire inside insulation.
^ Loose components.
^ EBTCM not receiving message from the ECM.
