C0475 - ELECTRIC STEERING MOTOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTIONThe electronic power steering (EPS) control module monitors the voltage and current of the EPS motor.
DTC PARAMETERS
DTC C0475 will be current:
^ If the EPS control module detects a short to ground, a short to battery, or an open in the EPS motor, wiring harness, or internal failure occurs in the EPS control module.
^ Actual motor current will be above 75 amps or; the desired motor current will be above 4 amps and the actual will be less than 2 amps or; if the actual motor current is greater than the desired current and if the difference between the actual motor current and the desired motor current is greater than 10 amps.
When DTC C0475 is current:
^ Service Wrench telltale will be On.
^ EPS control module will enter into a default mode.
^ No steering assist will be provided.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ Inspect the EPS control module power and ground circuits.
^ Inspect the EPS motor harness power and ground circuits.
^ If no problems are found with the power and ground circuits replace the EPS assembly.
