C0899 - DEVICE #1 VOLTAGE LOW









The electronic power steering (EPS) control module monitors battery voltage on circuit 8040, connector J1, cavity 7.

DTC PARAMETERS
DTC C0899 will be current:
^ The battery voltage is less than 8 volts.
When DTC C0899 is current:
^ Service Wrench telltale will be On.
^ No steering assist will be provided.
^ DTC C0899 will be history.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ The DTC will become history when battery voltage returns above 8 volts during the same ignition cycle.
^ An open in circuit 8040 will not set this DTC.
^ Check circuit 350 for a poor connection at the ground terminal, or for high resistance.
^ Check for loose battery connections.
^ Use Scan tool to display battery voltage.
^ Refer to charge circuit diagnosis.
