Global Positioning System (GPS) Antenna

The GPS antenna is located on the front glass above the rear view mirror. This is a direct input to the CIM, which provides the latitude and longitude of the vehicle. This allows the OnStar call center to aid the customer with directions and location. The GPS antenna is a direct input to the CIM using a coax cable. The GPS antenna utilizes satellite information to determine the location of the vehicle. If trees, tall building and or other objects block the GPS signal, the system will not receive information to determine the location of the vehicle.
