Front Door Latch, Inside Handle Rod & Lock Button Rod

REMOVAL
1. Move door window into up position.
2. Remove front door trim panel.




3. Remove front door water deflector.
4. From lower access hole in door structure, disconnect outside handle rod from clamshell-style clip.
5. Disconnect electrical connector from latch, if equipped.




6. Disconnect inside handle rod and lock button rod from guide clips in door structure.
7. Remove door latch fasteners.
8. Move latch forward in door structure. Rotate latch to disconnect lock cylinder rod from latch.
9. Remove door latch (inside handle rod and lock button rod still attached) through lock rod pass-through hole in door structure.




10. Disconnect inside handle rod and lock button rod from latch.

INSTALLATION
1. Reconnect inside handle rod and lock button rod to latch.




2. Position door latch (inside handle rod and lock button rod attached) through lock rod pass-through hole into door structure.
3. Connect lock cylinder rod into latch by rotating latch to engage rod.
4. Install door latch fasteners in order shown in illustration.

Torque:
Front Door Latch Fasteners: 12 N.m (9 ft-lbs)

5. Adjust outside handle rod to freely enter clamshell-style retainer clip in door latch and snap into place.
6. Connect inside handle rod and lock button rod into guide clips in door structure.
7. Connect latch electrical connector, if equipped.




8. Install front door water deflector.
9. Install front door trim panel.
