Rear Door Assembly
REMOVALCAUTION: STRIKING THE VEHICLE NEAR THE SIDE AIR BAG IMPACT SENSOR CAN CAUSE AN AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, IF THE IGNITION SWITCH IS NOT OFF, TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY AND DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE FROM A DEPLOYMENT, ALWAYS TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO OFF DURING BODY REPAIRS.
1. Remove rear door outer panel.
2. Remove rear door sound insulator.
3. Disconnect all wiring harness connectors inside door.
4. Disengage wiring harness grommet from door structure and remove harness from door.
5. Remove check link to hinge pillar bolts.
6. Place support under door.
7. Using a soft marker, mark around outside of hinge for installation purposes.
8. Remove door hinge to body bolts.
9. Remove door.
INSTALLATION
1. Place door in opening and latch to striker.
2. Loosely install all hinge to body bolts. Align with marks made during removal and tighten all hinge bolts.
3. Check door alignment and adjust as required.
4. Tighten hinge to body bolts.
Torque:
Rear Door Hinge-to-Body Bolts: 25 N.m (18 ft-lbs)
5. Install check link to hinge pillar bolts.
Torque:
Rear Check Link-to-Hinge Pillar Bolts: 10 N.m (88 in-lbs)
6. Engage wiring harness grommet into door structure and install harness into door.
7. Reconnect all wiring harness connectors inside door.
8. Install rear door sound insulator.
9. Install rear door outer panel.
