Handle Replacement - Lift Gate

Removal Procedure





1. Open the lift gate.
2. Remove the lift gate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lift Gate (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Lift Gate (Removal and Replacement) .
4. Disconnect the outside handle swing over clip from the outside handle rod.
5. Remove the lift gate outside handle bolts.
6. Remove the lift gate handle from the lift gate.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the lift gate handle to the lift gate.

Notice: Refer toFastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bolts to the lift gate handle.

Tighten the lift gate handle bolts to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

3. Reconnect the outside handle swing over clip to the outside handle rod.
4. Install the lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Lift Gate (Removal and Replacement) .
5. Install the lift gate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lift Gate (Service and Repair) .
6. Close the lift gate.
