Installation
SUPPORT ASSEMBLY (FRAME)INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT: Ensure support is positioned squarely in the vehicle. Measure distance from support rear mounting bolt (left hand) to rear of underbody. Then measure right side in the same manner. The measurement should be the same. Adjust as required.
1. Position support to vehicle and hand start all bolts and loosely tighten.
CAUTION: FAILURE TO PROPERLY SUPPORT THE REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY CAN CAUSE THE SUPPORT TO DROP TO THE GROUND WHEN THE MOUNTING BOLTS ARE REMOVED.
CAUTION: SUPPORT FRONT OF VEHICLE TO ENSURE THAT VEHICLE WILL NOT BECOME UNBALANCED AND TIP FORWARD, OFF THE HOIST.
2. Tighten mounting bolts.
Torque:
Support Mounting Bolts: 190 N.m (140 ft. lbs.)
3. On all wheel drive vehicles, install drive axles.
4. Replace rear suspension components as required.
5. Position propshaft rear flange to the vehicle.
6. Install center bearing bolts and hand tighten.
IMPORTANT: Use Permatex threadlocker (blue) on bolt threads.
7. Align rear propshaft flange to rear drive module. Align index marks, hand start all bolts, then tighten.
Torque:
Rear Propshaft Flange-to-Rear Drive Module Bolts: 50 N.m (37 ft. lbs.)
8. Tighten center bearing, bolts.
Torque:
Center Bearing Bolts: 21 N.m (18 ft. lbs.)
9. Position exhaust muffler and resonator to vehicle and install rubber bushings.
NOTICE: Use new gasket.
10. Install intermediate exhaust pipe to down pipe, install nuts and tighten.
Torque:
Intermediate Exhaust Pipe-to-Down Pipe Nuts: 30 N.m (22 ft. lbs.)
11. Install rear wheels and tires.
12. Install wheel nuts and tighten.
13. Tighten wheel nuts in a criss-cross pattern.
Torque:
Wheel Nuts: 125 N.m (92 ft. lbs.)
14. Lower vehicle.
15. Check alignment, align as necessary.
