Removal
SUPPORT ASSEMBLY (FRAME)REMOVAL
CAUTION: MAKE SURE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE OPPOSITE FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.
IMPORTANT: The support (frame) with the suspension attached may be removed as an assembly if desired, or the suspension components can be removed prior to removing the support frame.
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove near wheels and tires.
3. Disconnect intermediate exhaust pipe from down pipe.
4. Remove exhaust muffler and resonator.
NOTICE: Depending on the level of service, it may be advantageous to remove the complete suspension module.
5. Remove rear suspension components as required.
IMPORTANT: Index mark the propshaft flange to rear drive module flange.
6. On all wheel drive vehicles, remove propshaft rear flange bolts.
7. Remove propshaft center bearing attachment bolts.
CAUTION: FAILURE TO PROPERLY SUPPORT THE REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY CAN CAUSE THE SUPPORT TO DROP TO THE GROUND WHEN MOUNTING BOLTS ARE REMOVED.
CAUTION: SUPPORT FRONT OF VEHICLE TO ENSURE THAT VEHICLE WILL NOT BECOME UNBALANCED AND TIP FORWARD, OFF THE HOIST.
8. On all wheel drive vehicles, remove drive axles.
9. Remove support attachment bolts and lower from vehicle.
