Oil Filter: Description and Operation
L81The V6 oil filter housing is bolted directly to the cylinder block and contains a paper element block and is easily accessible. A bypass valve is installed in the block under the oil filter and automatically opens when the filter has become extremely restricted. The oil then passes through the filter without the filter being crushed.
