Tire Mounting and Dismounting
TIRESREMOVAL
NOTICE: Do not use hand tools or tire irons alone to dismount tires as they may damage the tire bead or wheel rim.
Use a tire changing machine to remove tires from wheels. Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions.
INSTALLATION
Use a tire changing machine to mount tires. Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions.
1. Clean rim bead flanges with a wire brush or coarse steel wool to remove lubricants, old rubber and light rust.
2. If required, install new tire valve.
3. Remove tire valve core.
4. Lubricate tire bead with an approved tire lubricant.
5. Install tire following equipment manufacturer's instructions.
CAUTION: DO NOT EXCEED 275 KPA (40 PSI) PRESSURE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SEAT BEADS. IF BEADS DO NOT SEAT UNDER THIS PRESSURE, DEFLATE TIRE, LUBRICATE BEAD AND ATTEMPT TO SEAT. DO NOT STAND OVER TIRE WHILE INFLATING. BEAD MAY BREAK WHEN SNAPPING OVER RIM SAFETY HUMP, AND CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY.
6. After installation, inflate tire to 275 kPa (40 psi) so that beads are completely seated.
7. Install tire valve core.
8. Adjust cold tire inflation pressure according to tire loading information sticker located on the rear edge of the driver's side rear door.
