Battery Cooling Box
REMOVALIMPORTANT: Record all pre-set radio stations.
1. Ignition Off.
2. Loosen battery cover screws and remove battery cover.
3. Disconnect negative battery cable.
4. Disconnect positive battery cable.
CAUTION: DO NOT TIP BATTERY OVER A 45° ANGLE OR ACID COULD SPILL.
5. Remove battery hold down bolt and remove battery.
6. Remove underhood fuse block (UHFB) cover.
7. Remove positive battery cable and electronic power steering (EPS) wire from B+ terminal at UHFB.
8. Open all retainer clips and remove all cables, lines and harnesses from battery cooling box.
9. Remove UHFB connector retaining bolts.
10. Unfasten UHFB from its housing and disconnect forward lamp harness.
IMPORTANT: Protect disconnected harness from contamination during service.
11. Remove battery cooling box bolts.
12. Remove battery cooling box side support bolt.
13. Pull inlet duct away from battery cooling box.
14. Rotate UHFB out of way and remove battery cooling box.
INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT: Alignment of inlet and outlet ducts with battery cooling box is critical to ensure proper airflow to battery.
1. Position battery cooling box on tray so that inlet and outlet ducts are properly aligned.
IMPORTANT: Over tightening battery cooling box bolts will break/crack plastic.
2. Install battery cooling box bolts.
Torque:
Battery Cool Box Bolt: 15 N.m (11 ft-lbs)
3. Install battery cooling box side support bolt.
Torque:
Battery Cooling Box Side Support Bolt: 10 N.m (7 ft-lbs)
4. Connect forward lamp harness to UHFB and attach UHFB into housing.
5. Tighten UHFB connector retaining screws.
Torque:
UHFB Connector Bolts: 4 N.m (35 in-lbs)
6. Secure all cables, lines and harness into retaining clips
7. Attach positive battery cable and EPS wire to B+ terminal at UHFB and tighten nut.
Torque:
UHFB B+ Terminal Nut: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs)
CAUTION: DO NOT TIP BATTERY OVER A 45° ANGLE OR ACID COULD SPILL.
8. Install battery and tighten battery hold down bolt.
Torque:
Battery Hold Down Bolt: 15 N.m (11 ft-lbs)
9. Connect positive battery cable to battery.
Torque:
Battery Terminal Bolt: 17 N.m (13 ft-lbs)
10. Connect negative battery cable to battery.
Torque:
Battery Terminal Bolt: 17 N.m (13 ft-lbs)
11. Install UHFB cover.
12. Install battery cooling box cover and tighten screws.
Torque:
Battery Cooling Box Cover Screws: 2 N.m (18 in-lbs)
13. Reprogram radio stations.
