Fluid Dripping on Driver's Floormat
(Wipe Assembly Lubricant from Steering Column)

2002-2003 Saturn VUE Vehicles
2003-2004 Saturn ION Vehicles

This bulletin is being revised to update the Models Affected information.

Please discard Saturn Bulletin 02-T-80 (Corporate Bulletin Number 02-02-35-008 [Section 02 - Steering]).

Condition:

Some customers may comment on a clear or tan color fluid dripping on the driver's floormat or carpet.

Cause:

This condition may be caused by excessive assembly lubricant (a lightweight oil) on the steering column housing.

Correction:

Wipe the assembly lubricant off the steering column with a dry shop towel and clean the carpet if needed.

Claim Information:

To receive credit for this repair during the warranty coverage period, submit a claim through the Saturn Dealer System for E7003 (Column, Steering-Clean).
