69. Oil Pan Installation

Oil Pan Installation





1. Clean and dry the oil pan mating surfaces.
2. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346240 (Canadian P/N 10953493) or equivalent evenly to the oil pan mating surface (1) of the engine block.





3. Install the pins (402).
4. Install the oil pan (400).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the bolts (409).





6. Tighten the bolts.
6.1. Tighten the bolts in sequence a first pass to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
6.2. Tighten the bolts in sequence a final pass to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
