100. 1ST/2ND Clutch Shaft Installed Height Inspection/Adjustment

1st/2nd Clutch Shaft Installed Height Inspection/Adjustment





1. Install the 1st , 2nd clutch shaft thrust bearing (750) into the torque converter housing (150) in the direction shown.
2. Install the 1st , 2nd clutch shaft assembly (755) into the torque converter housing (150).
3. Install both torque converter housing locating pins (126) into the torque converter housing (150).
4. Install the torque converter housing gasket (68) into the torque converter housing (150).





5. Measure the height (a) of the 1st and 2nd clutch shaft assembly (755) from the top of the torque converter housing gasket (68) to the top of the 1st and 2nd clutch shaft rear bearing (719), then record the measurement. This measurement is the 1st and 2nd clutch shaft installed height.
Specification:
- The 1st , 2nd clutch shaft installed height is between 222.54-222.63 mm (8.761-8.765 inch)





6. Calculate the required thickness of the 1st and 2nd clutch shaft installed height 65mm selective shim (74) by using the following formula:

- 1st and 2nd clutch shaft installed height 65mm selective shim (74) thickness = 1st and 2nd clutch shaft installed height specification minus the actual 1st and 2nd clutch shaft installed measurement.





7. From the transmission case housing (31), remove the 1st and 2nd clutch shaft installed height 65mm selective shim (74) and measure its thickness.
8. Select the correct 1st and 2nd clutch shaft installed height 65mm selective shim (74) from the selective shim table that will make the actual 1st and 2nd clutch shaft installed measurement fall within the middle of the 1st and 2nd clutch shaft installed height specification (a).





9. Install the correct 1st and 2nd clutch shaft installed height 65mm selective shim (74) into the transmission case housing (31).
