32. Crankshaft and Bearing Removal

Crankshaft and Bearings Removal

Important: The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has to perform the crankshaft position learn process under the following conditions:
^ The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is removed for replacement or disassembly
^ The timing belt is removed for replacement or disassembly
^ The CKP Pattern Clear is executed from the Tech II
^ The PCM is replaced





1. Remove the bearing cap bolts (108, 109).
2. Remove the bearing caps (103) and lower bearings (106).





3. Remove the crankshaft (102), upper bearings (105) and thrust bearings (104).
4. Remove the pins (107).
