89. Intake Manifold Installation

Intake Manifold Installation





1. Install the gaskets (520) and spacer (521).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the manifold (500), bolts (508) and nuts (507).





3. Tighten the nuts and bolts in sequence.
3.1. Tighten the nuts and bolts in sequence a first pass to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.).
3.2. Tighten the nuts and bolts in sequence a final pass to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) tube (509) and bolts (510).
^ Tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
5. Install the studs (553), gaskets (501 and 506) and covers (502 and 505).
6. Install the bolts (504) and nuts (503).
^ Tighten the bolts and nuts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
7. Install the dampner (728) and bolts (729).
^ Tighten the bolts to 21 Nm (15.9 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the cap (554).





9. Install the studs (515), gasket (511), cover (512), nuts (514) and bolts (513).





10. Tighten the nuts and bolts in sequence.
10.1. Tighten the nuts and bolts in sequence a first pass to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
10.2. Tighten the nuts and bolts in sequence a second pass to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).





11. Install the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose (548) and clamps (549).
12. Install the EVAP valve (718), with hoses, clamps (719) and bolts (727).
^ Tighten the bolts to 9.8 Nm (87 inch lbs.).
13. Install the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor (715) and NEW O-ring (714).
^ Tighten the sensor to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
