Wiring Harness Replacement - Liftgate

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer toBattery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
2. Open the liftgate.
3. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Liftgate (Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate) .
4. Remove the water deflector. Refer toWater Deflector Replacement - Liftgate (Water Deflector Replacement - Liftgate) .
5. Remove the rear speakers from the liftgate. Refer toSpeaker Replacement - Rear in Entertainment.
6. Remove the high mounted stop lamp. Refer toHigh Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
7. Remove the license plate lamps. Refer toLicense Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
8. Disconnect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.
9. Remove the rear washer hose. Refer toWasher Nozzle Replacement - Rear in Wipers/Washer Systems.
10. Remove the rear corner upper garnish moldings. Refer toFinish Panel Replacement - Upper Rear Trim (Finish Panel Replacement - Upper Rear Trim) in Interior Trim.




11. Disconnect liftgate wiring harness connectors (2) from the rear body wiring harness (3).




12. Disconnect the following electrical connectors and harness clips from the liftgate panel.

* Harness retainer (1)
* Wiper motor connector (2)
* Harness retainer (3)
* Harness clip (4)
* Harness clips (5)
* License plate lamp sockets (6)
* Pink tape used for visual aid (7)
* Harness clip (8)
* Liftgate latch electrical connectors (9)
* Green tape used for visual aid (10)
* Harness clips (11)
* Wiper motor harness clip to liftgate (12)
* Speaker electrical connector (13)
* Harness clip (15)

13. Remove the electrical harness from the liftgate.



Installation Procedure

1. Route and position the electrical harness to the liftgate.




2. Connect the following electrical connectors and harness clips to the liftgate.

* Harness retainer (1)
* Wiper motor connector (2)
* Harness retainer (3)
* Harness clip (4)
* Harness clips (5)
* License plate lamp sockets (6)
* Pink tape used for visual aid (7)
* Harness clip (8)
* Liftgate latch electrical connectors (9)
* Green tape used for visual aid (10)
* Harness clips (11)
* Wiper motor harness clip to liftgate (12)
* Speaker electrical connector (13)
* Harness clip (15)





3. Connect liftgate wiring harness connectors (2) to the rear body wiring harness (3).
4. Install the rear corner upper garnish moldings. Refer toFinish Panel Replacement - Upper Rear Trim (Finish Panel Replacement - Upper Rear Trim) in Interior Trim.
5. Install the rear washer hose. Refer toWasher Nozzle Replacement - Rear in Wipers/Washer Systems.
6. Connect the liftgate latch electrical connectors
7. Install the license plate lamps. Refer toLicense Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems
8. Install the high mounted stop lamp. Refer toHigh Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
9. Install the rear speakers to the liftgate. Refer toSpeaker Replacement - Rear in Entertainment.
10. Install the water deflector. Refer toWater Deflector Replacement - Liftgate (Water Deflector Replacement - Liftgate) .
11. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Liftgate (Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate) .
12. Close the liftgate.
13. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer toBattery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
14. Re-initialize the power sliding door. Refer toAcutator Control Module - Power Sliding Door (PSD) Programming and Setup .
