Instrument Panel (I/P) Carrier Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR. Refer toSIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 andSIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in SIR.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer toBattery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
3. Remove the instrument panel (I/P). Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Assembly Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Assembly Replacement) .
4. Remove the I/P wiring harness. Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Harness Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Harness Replacement) .
5. Remove the body control module (BCM). Refer toBody Control Module Replacement in Computing/Integrating Systems.
6. Remove the electronic brake control module (EBCM). Refer toElectronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Replacement in Antilock Brake System.
7. Remove the A/C module. Refer toHVAC Control Module Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
8. Remove the I/P air outlet ducts. Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Air Outlet Ducts Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
9. Remove the center air outlet. Refer toAir Outlet Replacement - Center in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
10. Remove the defroster duct. Refer toAir Outlet Duct Replacement - Defroster in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.




11. Remove the bolts/screws which secure the I/P carrier to the body.
12. Remove the I/P carrier from the body.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the I/P carrier to the body.

Notice: Refer toFastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bolts/screws which secure the I/P carrier to the body.

Tighten the bolts/screws to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

3. Install the defroster duct. Refer toAir Outlet Duct Replacement - Defroster in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
4. Install the center air outlet. Refer toAir Outlet Replacement - Center in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
5. Install the I/P air outlet ducts. Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Air Outlet Ducts Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
6. Install the A/C control module. Refer toHVAC Control Module Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
7. Install the EBCM. Refer toElectronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Replacement in Antilock Brake System.
8. Install the BCM. Refer toBody Control Module Replacement in Computing/Integrating Systems.
9. Install the wiring harness. Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Harness Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Harness Replacement) .
10. Install the I/P. Refer toInstrument Panel (I/P) Assembly Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Assembly Replacement) .
11. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer toBattery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
12. Enable the SIR. Refer toSIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 andSIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in SIR.
