Battery Replacement
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Turn the ignition OFF.
IMPORTANT: Record all pre-set radio stations.
2. For vehicles with L61 engine, remove the battery box. Refer to Battery Box Replacement.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
5. Loosen the battery hold down bolt and remove the battery.Loosen the battery hold down bolt and remove the battery.
CAUTION: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the battery and tighten the battery hold down bolt.
Tighten the battery hold down bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
CAUTION: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Connect the positive battery cable to the battery.
Tighten the battery terminal bolts to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
3. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.
Tighten the battery terminal bolts to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
4. For vehicles with L61 engine, install the battery box. Refer to Battery Box Replacement.
Tighten the battery cooling cover box screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
5. Reprogram the radio stations.
