Powertrain Control Module (PCM) - Programming and Setup



POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING AND SETUP

PROGRAMMING AND SETUP PROCEDURES
The following service procedures require either a programming or a setup event performed for a complete repair.

PCM REPLACEMENT
If the powertrain control module (PCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:
1. The PCM Reprogramming-Refer to Service Programming System (SPS).
2. The Idle Learn Procedure-Refer to Idle Learn Procedure in Computers and Control Systems.

PCM REPROGRAMMING
If the PCM needs to be reprogrammed the Idle Learn Procedure must also be performed. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) and Idle Learn Procedure in Computers and Control Systems.

SETUP FOR COMPONENT SERVICE/REPLACEMENT
The servicing or replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.

If any of the following service procedures are performed, the Idle Learn Procedure must also be performed. Refer to Idle Learn Procedure in Computers and Control Systems.
