Ignition and Start Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
2. Remove the steering column trim covers.
3. Remove the ignition lock cylinder.
4. Remove the theft deterrent module from the lock cylinder housing.




5. Remove the screws (2) from the ignition switch (1).
6. Remove the ignition switch (1) from the ignition lock cylinder case.
7. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the ignition switch electrical connector.
2. Install the ignition switch (1) to the ignition lock cylinder case.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

3. Install the screws (2) to the ignition switch (1).

Tighten the screws to 1.25 N.m (11 lb in).

4. Install the theft deterrent module to the lock cylinder housing. Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Replacement.
5. Install the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement.
6. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement.
7. Enable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
